DANTDM
CREATES A BIG SCENE
BRIEF
DanTDM is a show commissioned by YouTube as part of their On-Demand service. It follows the adventures of one of today's most beloved bloggers and his band of imaginary friends.
It was my job to oversee a lot of the pre-production. Attending table reads and liaising with the director in regards to the storyboards. I then led a team of 3 other artists to complete 6 episodes of storyboards in less than 2 months. Once we entered into production I joined the animation team to help bring the characters to life.

ON SET
I spent time on-set as an Animation Supervisor. This involved working with the Director, Producers and DOP to ensure the production was going to plan. The show was a mix between live-action and animation with the main character Dan being filmed on set and the animated characters integrated into the scene using various post-production techniques. So it was important to have that critical eye and experience during production to ensure no nasty surprises for the animation team.
TEST OF CHARACTER
During the animation phase we spent a few weeks producing robust rigs of the characters because we knew how often we would be using them. These rigs included head turns, expressions and IK handes for the joints. In the end, this process really made the animation a joy to work on.
